Finally, a New Blog!

Tues. Aug.7th, Dark Day (no racing at the track but still horses exercise), the Terry Lindsey Equidae Gallery visited the Kiaran McLaughlin Stables.  Terry Lindsey presented a painting demo while assistant trainer, Trish McLaughlin talked about racing and the prize model Soldat.  Soldat raced in the Derby, Breeders Cup Juvenile and several more races while winning many.  He is now training as a turf horse, which has proven to be his favored footing.  Kiaran visited with the guests which was a treasured experience as well as just being at the stables among all of the race horses.  The painting will be displayed at various stages of development and sold at the time of completion with 90% of the sale being gifted to MS in honor of Kiaran.  Inquiries regarding the purchase of Soldat's painting may call the gallery at 518-580-1766.

TERRY LINDSEY EQUIDAE GALLERY

"BE CAREFUL"  Yes, that is the title of the new 16 x 20 that was just completed.  It is actually my grandson Ezra and was a pleasure to paint as you might imagine.  I have had several commissions lately but still manage to squeeze in some paintings that I personally want to do.  Snowing in Dorset makes great studio time.

TERRY LINDSEY EQUIDAE GALLERY

As promised, I will begin to add some new small pieces that have been completed recently.  Above is a scene typical under our bird feeder.  However the scene is shot taken from last winter, with lots of snow!  This piece is 10" x 10" canvas and just a fun incidence in Nature.  "Sunflower Seed Standoff".

OVERDUE GREETINGS FROM THE STUDIO OF TERRY  LINDSEY.

Yes, my grandson's dresser is completed and now in Montana in his bedroom.  This was a three  month task as I choose to paint the entire dresser in oils.  The dresser then needs to be prepared the same as a gessoed oil on board.  It was great fun.  I have just taken some new paintings to Tilting at Windmills Gallery for their opening this coming week-end.  Now I will work on my commissions  and begin preparations for this summer's show.  I plan to post some small pieces soon and weekly!
I hope all of you are enjoying this winter in the manner that you would like to.    Cheers, Terry

TERRY LINDSEY EQUIDAE GALLERY

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Yes, it has been a while since anything has been added to my blog and for a great reason.  I am displaying the wondrous view of three of my grandsons visiting for the holidays.  Although you see only their backs you do see that Wren finally got use to "the invasion of the little people" and soon learned that they were always dropping morsels for her.   From left to right I introduce McCoy, 3 and then Luken and Quinn, 1 1/2.  Quite an amazing family.  Believe me there is no extra time.

The other image is of what I am presently creating in my studio.  For each of the grandchildren I have created the tradition of a dresser or toy box with original oils of different ideas that I think would be fun for them to see each day and grow up with.   Some have possessed memorable images of their parents' childhood, others of animals from around the world, gardens and flowers, and now the last three boys I have done a study of some of the classics and some imagined books to hopefully inspire their thoughts thru out their lives.  Next I will be adding the letters of the alphabet and images that can be enjoyed now and hopefully some that will be of interest into their teens.  So it is not designed for toddler age only.  It is a fun gift that I can give them.  I gesso the entire dresser and then treat it like an oil painting.  The finish is polyurethane to take a beating.  This dresser is for Ezra John Lenmark in Dillon, Montana.
