Tues. Aug.7th, Dark Day (no racing at the track but still horses exercise), the Terry Lindsey Equidae Gallery visited the Kiaran McLaughlin Stables. Terry Lindsey presented a painting demo while assistant trainer, Trish McLaughlin talked about racing and the prize model Soldat. Soldat raced in the Derby, Breeders Cup Juvenile and several more races while winning many. He is now training as a turf horse, which has proven to be his favored footing. Kiaran visited with the guests which was a treasured experience as well as just being at the stables among all of the race horses. The painting will be displayed at various stages of development and sold at the time of completion with 90% of the sale being gifted to MS in honor of Kiaran. Inquiries regarding the purchase of Soldat's painting may call the gallery at 518-580-1766.

Yes, it has been a while since anything has been added to my blog and for a great reason. I am displaying the wondrous view of three of my grandsons visiting for the holidays. Although you see only their backs you do see that Wren finally got use to "the invasion of the little people" and soon learned that they were always dropping morsels for her. From left to right I introduce McCoy, 3 and then Luken and Quinn, 1 1/2. Quite an amazing family. Believe me there is no extra time.

The other image is of what I am presently creating in my studio. For each of the grandchildren I have created the tradition of a dresser or toy box with original oils of different ideas that I think would be fun for them to see each day and grow up with. Some have possessed memorable images of their parents' childhood, others of animals from around the world, gardens and flowers, and now the last three boys I have done a study of some of the classics and some imagined books to hopefully inspire their thoughts thru out their lives. Next I will be adding the letters of the alphabet and images that can be enjoyed now and hopefully some that will be of interest into their teens. So it is not designed for toddler age only. It is a fun gift that I can give them. I gesso the entire dresser and then treat it like an oil painting. The finish is polyurethane to take a beating. This dresser is for Ezra John Lenmark in Dillon, Montana.
GREETINGS FROM VERMONT. I have just returned from the Equine Affaire show which was my best show ever. I thank you all for visiting my booth and admiring the star of the the show, "Wren". Her painting greeted all when entering. Nibbles, the Santa feeding apple was a sell out of greeting cards and dog enthusiasts adored Noel Hoffman's portrait of a German Shepard with potential commissions. The bronzes were adored and bought! My jewelry once again was a very popular purchase with the new "Stable View" arriving in the nick of time for it's unveiling. Again, thank you for visiting my booth and your continued support of the arts!
Terry Lindsey Equidae Galleryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13668575742399794406noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1098314030979976782.post-55710729656739267252011-11-07T15:35:00.000-08:002011-11-07T15:35:47.505-08:00TERRY LINDSEY EQUIDAE GALLERY

Well
Hello All. Here it is November 2nd and I am entering my first blog
since this summer! There are many reasons for the delay. One is the
first image that you see, a new puppy. She is a standard Parti Poodle
with the name of Wren. She is hopefully a dog that you will see a lot
of next summer at the show. I have also included a scene from the end
of the 10th Season in Saratoga!

It
has been a beautiful and busy fall. I am happy to report my first
painting is almost completed and ready to post for your viewing. Also I
would like to give those who read this a heads up that I am once again
going to Equine Affaire, which is next week. I hope to see some of you
there!

It has been a beautiful summer and a perfect show. The above image shows Artist Louise W. King's hand built beautiful blue clay horse. Paintings with an exuberance of color and life are oils by Lesley Humphrey.

As many know each Friday I have a demo or talk by an artist. It was my turn on the 19th and we were headed to McLaughlins' stable to paint a handsome, dark bay named Alyarph. Unfortunately, I was hit with a 24 hour bug that out me totally out of commission for the day. For the first time in ten years I canceled a demo. I am very sorry for those that traveled any distance and were not rewarded with the intimacy of the stable morning at the track. I will still do the painting and sell it with proceeds going to MS in honor of Kiaran. Thank you for your patience on last Friday.
It is glorious May in Vermont and our bees are busy in our plum trees. There is so much to look forward to. I am posting today 'Century Dancer' my British Race Horse. This oil was from an image taken after her first win. This 10" x 10" oil is the first in my England Series, from our trip there last spring. The reason for the 10" x 10" is because my summer show at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Springs, NY during racing season, will be hosting the tenth year celebration. Many artists will paint pieces this size . It will be an interesting feature to my 2000 sq ft show. Also please note that I will be having my yearly OPEN STUDIO on Memorial Day.
I have been working hard at a series of (ten) 10" x 10" paintings. The theme is England. Why ten? This summer will be a TEN YEAR CELEBRATION of the existence of Terry Lindsey Equidae Gallery. Last spring we visited many parts of England horsey and non horsey. The above image is just one of the many shots that I took inside ancient churches. It was Easter and tradition has it that the people from the town put personally designed bouquets of their choice in windows or other areas of their churches, for the holiday celebration. It was a magnificent treat to see arrays of flowers tucked next to windows and stone work hundreds of years old. Of course the traditional Daffodil is not overlooked.

YES. The snow is gone and the bees are out in Dorset, Vermont!
Of course she has just won another race and Mike Smith is there to give her her just rewards. Zenyatta has done more then win races for the racing profession. She has reawoken the excitement that all desire in this sport.
