TERRY LINDSEY EQUIDAE GALLERY

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Yes, it has been a while since anything has been added to my blog and for a great reason.  I am displaying the wondrous view of three of my grandsons visiting for the holidays.  Although you see only their backs you do see that Wren finally got use to "the invasion of the little people" and soon learned that they were always dropping morsels for her.   From left to right I introduce McCoy, 3 and then Luken and Quinn, 1 1/2.  Quite an amazing family.  Believe me there is no extra time.

The other image is of what I am presently creating in my studio.  For each of the grandchildren I have created the tradition of a dresser or toy box with original oils of different ideas that I think would be fun for them to see each day and grow up with.   Some have possessed memorable images of their parents' childhood, others of animals from around the world, gardens and flowers, and now the last three boys I have done a study of some of the classics and some imagined books to hopefully inspire their thoughts thru out their lives.  Next I will be adding the letters of the alphabet and images that can be enjoyed now and hopefully some that will be of interest into their teens.  So it is not designed for toddler age only.  It is a fun gift that I can give them.  I gesso the entire dresser and then treat it like an oil painting.  The finish is polyurethane to take a beating.  This dresser is for Ezra John Lenmark in Dillon, Montana.

TERRY LINDSEY EQUIDAE GALLERY

A view of the open studio and a report of a very successful show.   It was a great time and Wren was well received for her debut as a Gallery Girl.   She loved the visitors and even received a stuffed chicken from Arnie and Steffie.  When everyone was looking at the art she would try to snitch a snack.  She managed to get a cookie and cracker but not bad for a seven month old puppy.  Without a walk all day she was exhausted at bedtime from being a gracious hostess.

TERRY LINDSEY EQUIDAE GALLERY

GREETINGS FROM VERMONT.  I have just returned from the Equine Affaire show which was my  best  show ever.  I thank you all for visiting my booth and admiring the star of the the show, "Wren".  Her painting greeted all when entering.  Nibbles, the Santa feeding apple was a sell out of greeting cards and dog enthusiasts adored Noel Hoffman's portrait of a German Shepard with potential commissions.  The bronzes were adored and bought!  My jewelry once again was a very popular purchase with the new "Stable View" arriving in the nick of time for it's unveiling.  Again, thank you for visiting my booth and your continued support of the arts!

EQUIDAE PARTI WREN

Wren's first snow!

After the summer show!

TERRY LINDSEY EQUIDAE GALLERY

Well Hello All.  Here it is November 2nd and I am entering my first blog since this summer!  There are many reasons for the delay.  One is the first image that you see, a new puppy.  She is a standard Parti Poodle with the name of Wren.  She is hopefully a dog that you will see a lot of next summer at the show.  I have also included a scene from the end of the 10th Season in Saratoga!

It has been a beautiful and busy fall.  I am happy to report my first painting is almost completed and ready to post for your viewing.  Also I would like to give those who read this a heads up that I am once again going to Equine Affaire, which is next week.  I hope to see some of you there!

TERRY LINDSEY EQUIDAE GALLERY

Here we are rounding the last turn of the track towards the finish for this summer show season.  It has been a beautiful summer and a perfect show.  The above image shows Artist Louise W. King's hand built beautiful blue clay horse.  Paintings with an exuberance of color and life are oils by Lesley Humphrey.

As many know each Friday I have a demo or talk by an artist.  It was my turn on the 19th and we were headed to McLaughlins' stable to paint a handsome, dark bay named Alyarph.  Unfortunately, I was hit with a 24 hour bug that out me totally out of commission for the day.  For the first time in ten years I canceled a demo.  I am very sorry for those that traveled any distance and were not rewarded with the intimacy of the stable morning at the track.  I will still do the painting and sell it with proceeds going to MS in honor of Kiaran.  Thank you for your patience on last Friday.
